Phil writes:
I cut this small stone a few weeks ago and didn’t strike me as anything particularly interesting. However, when cleaning off the workbench the other night, the light was just right and one of the metal grains caught my eye. Looks like copper.

According to Alan Rubin in the paper "Metallic Copper in Ordinary Chondrites":
Metallic copper of moderately high purity occurs in at least 66% of ordinary Chondrites (OC) as heterogeneously distributed, small (typically < 20 μm) rounded to irregular grains.

Although the presence of copper may not be that unusual, I believe the size of the grain must be.

The second picture is at 20x magnification. I forgot to turn off the flash on the camera but it really brought out the color of the metal.

I have not seen copper grains in meteorites but I have seen similar grains in some agate specimens. I had not thought of copper in meteorites until now. Very interesting.
