Photos 3, 4, 5, and 6 are animated GIFs that alternate between cross-polarized and plane-polarized light for 6 cycles. Move the mouse over the Photo number to trigger another cycle.

This meteorite was found in August 2000, in the Western Desert of Egypt, at the northeastern tip of the Great Sand Sea, near El Bahrain oasis. No GPS was available at that time.

Thank you Paul: A minor correction. The weight of this meteorite is not 65 grams as mentioned above. It is 11.5 Kilograms and was originally found broken into 3 pieces each is about 4 kilos in weight.
