TKW 1835 grams. Fall not observed. Purchased 2012 in Morocco.

I purchased these paired specimens from the German meteorite dealer/collector David Göttlich in 2013.

The 25.7 gram specimen is a crusted individual with conspicuous contraction cracks. It readily jumps to a strong magnet but is only moderately attracted. It features several shallow thumbprints.

The 15.9 gram and 16.4 gram specimens are also crusted, show contraction cracks and shallow thumbprints. Tiny FeNi metal specks are visible in some places.

The two specimens weighing 9.4 grams show the same features as the others but one of them has a rollover lip and some faintly visible flowlines.

LL meteorites often have very subtle details on the exterior...likely due to the lack of metal that makes ablation easier and smooth.

I love the "checking" on the outside crust. Reminds me of Holbrook meteorites, when taking a new hunter to Holbrook one must explain to look for the same checking, to try and convince the new hunter that not every black rock by the railroad tracks is a meteorite!
