What is a thin section?       What do all the colors mean?
Thin section between crossed polarizers.   Eucrite-br

TKW 266 grams. Fall not observed. Bought in 2008 from a Moroccan meteorite dealer on a mineral fair in Bruegg, Switzerland.

Don't miss the zoomable hi-res picture on Flicker.

Solar writes:
NWA 5903 in cross polarized light. Beautiful examples of calcic plagioclase and exsolved pyroxene. The mosaic is so large and there is so much information contained with 16 bit color TIFF that the file size is 12.6 GB!
