I thought that is what you were referring to, Mike. In others' photo's they Do stand out. Andi appears to be on a good track. ??. Best |

The straight dark colored lines are rhabdite plains (a special form of schreibersite) within the hexahedrite iron. For my opinion they do not separate iron crystals. The HEX iron is just one big crystal, but I*m not quite sure. |

I wasn't referring to the saw cut marks. It is the straight line. |

Twannberg - one of my favorite irons! Three pieces purchased at the Munich 2017 show from Marc Jost in my collection: two slices and an individual (2.2 gr + 5.1 gr + 7.6 gr). |

Yes, in this case I believe they are saw marks, not thin crystals, it has not been polished enough. Still I wanted to show it to you because Twannberg are mostly found as fragments, rarely big enough to be sliced, and still the interior is interesting with the lack of Widmanstatten lines, and those random dots. |

Saw markings? |

I presume those long thin lines are separating the crystals of metal. I've not seen structure quite like that. Very nice piece. |
