Name writes:
Here are three tektites that were originally Darryl Futrell's. He was proud of these as he was with many spectacular finds he had. He was an outstanding collector of many varieties.

Picture 1 is a very large Thai disk at 456 grams.

Picture 2 is his "large" Irghizite at 5.1 g.

Picture 3 is a Phillipinite (Samar region), 416 grams, that has something resembling a face. The latter may not be in a largest of type category but it is very large and anthropomorphic. Not only on Halloween does it frighten me!

I never met him in person, we did out trading through emails. I do wish I had met him though.

Twink, wasn't it nice for you to meet Darryl- I got to know him too. He told so many unique stories about these glass rocks.

I have two of Darryl's, one from him in exchange for a Gold Basin meteorite and I got another large from one of Michael Blood's meteorite auctions. I do treasure them!

Very nice and with a great back story for tektite and meteorite lovers. The big disc numbered NO. 1 is awesome.
